I just wanted to give everyone a heads up so they can avoid what happened to my wife. She had a minor illness that required only a basic antibody to cure. Because it was the weekend, she was going to go to the minor emergency center that used to be near Half-Price Books. We have been there many times before and it costs around $60 to be seen. When she found that it was shut down, she was going to go to a similar center in New Braunfels, but decided to check out the new "minor emergency center" at San Marcos' own CTMC. She made sure to ask the staff there if it would be a charge like the regular hospital and was assured that no, it was billed like a traditional minor emergency center. Based on this assurance, she went and saw the doctor for about three minutes and got her meds. Well, imagine our surprise when the bill came for more than $1000, with us being responsible for the more than $200 that was not covered by our insurance. We called to complain and were dismissed with a "too bad." Please spread the word about this scam being perpetuated on the people of San Marcos. Drive to Austin or New Branfels if you need a minor emergency center, where they are not out to rip you off.

I am so sorry to hear about your issues with that clinic. I have too been victum to that lack of communication of a business setting. I have called several times to ask questions and have on several of those times been given the wrong info. To which their response has always been " I am so sorry but that is our policy". Well then maybe they should train their employess better so that they do not give out the wrong info. And if they do they should pay for the mistake not us.We should be compesated accordingly.I feel your pain. If I were you I would find out who the head person over there and write an email or letter detail what happened and see if they would not make an acception.It wont hurt.

I have never heard a positive story about CTMC. Everyone seems to walk out with less than satisfactory care and an astronomical bill. If it's not life or death, definitely go to New Braunfels or Seguin.

I work in Seguin and have heard nothing but horror stories about the hospital there. This is the first time Ive heard anything about CTMC and the times Ive been there, I havent had any issues.

I went in one time for a simple Urinary tract infection, they didnt give me any pain medicine, just checked my urine...The bill was $8000!!! for less than an hour of being there!!! Not cool, at the time i was in too much pain to even walk, and knew i needed immediate help, but if would have known what it would cost me and my parents ( i was only 20), I would have suffered until the school health center opened again on monday...
